UK Youth has published new research on poverty which looks at the impact of the current cost of living on young people and families in the UK. Findings from a poll of parents and young people aged 16- to 25 include: 36% of young people say they are more lonely as they reduce their social life to save money; and 54% say their mental health has been negatively impacted by the cost of living crisisHealthy people, prosperous lives: The first interim report of the IPPR Commission on Health and Prosperity
The UK is getting poorer and sicker, at the same time as the country is facing a challenging economic outlook. After rapid progress on life expectancy in the 20th century, the UK has rising rates of death and impairment – including higher prevalence of long-term conditions and greater rates of multimorbidity.
