Findings from student health and wellbeing surveys include: the percentage of 11- to 16-year-olds reporting elevated symptoms of depression increased from 24% in 2019 to 28% in 2022; the increase was particularly noticeable amongst children in year seven, of whom 21% reported elevated symptoms of depression, compared with 15% in 2019.
