Youth-led #BeeWell uncovers major insights into young people’s experiences across Greater Manchester
#BeeWell, a collaboration between the University of Manchester, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the Anna Freud Centre, has published a briefing on findings from a survey of nearly 40,000 Year 8 and Year 10 pupils in Greater Manchester on their wellbeing in Autumn 2021. The report finds: gaps in wellbeing scores between males and females, with girls reporting lower wellbeing than boys; and inequalities for young people who identify as LGBTQ+, who on average report higher levels of stress and emotional difficulties.

STEER Education a report on young people’s mental health in the UK based on online responses from students in 92 state secondary schools before the start of the coronavirus pandemic and December 2021. Findings include girls may have been particularly affected socially and emotionally by lockdown restrictions.
